The Greatness of Jesus and the Development of Spiritual Intelligence

In a recent video talk, a Benedictine monk and spiritual intelligence coach discussed the greatness of Jesus and how his teachings can help us to develop spiritual intelligence.

The speaker began by discussing the document "Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together", which was signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in 2019. This document emphasizes the importance of human fraternity and freedom of belief.

The speaker then discussed the four archetypes of spiritual teachers, as defined by the Italian philosopher Vito Mancuso: Socrates the educator, Buddha the therapist, Confucius the politician, and Jesus the prophet.

He argued that Jesus was a prophet because he had a unique way of looking at human beings and reality. Jesus' teachings can help us to develop spiritual intelligence by teaching us to love our enemies, to forgive those who have wronged us, and to see the divine in all people.

The speaker concluded by saying that we need to create a society where plurality and difference are normal, not exceptional. This is the only way to achieve true human fraternity.

Key Points

Spiritual intelligence is the ability to recognize the divine in all things and to live a life of love and compassion.

Jesus was a prophet who taught us to love our enemies, to forgive those who have wronged us, and to see the divine in all people.

We need to create a society where plurality and difference are normal, not exceptional. This is the only way to achieve true human fraternity.

Implications

The implications of this talk are significant. If we are to create a more just and compassionate world, we need to develop our spiritual intelligence. This means learning to see the divine in all things and to live a life of love and compassion. We also need to create a society where plurality and difference are accepted and celebrated. This is the only way to achieve true human fraternity.
